Fiscal Responsibility
School District 203 has a budget of over $300 million which is primarily funded through your local real estate taxes. It is imperative that these funds are used effectively to benefit students and responsibly so no tax payer dollars go to waste. We need to make sure that we continue to invest in programs critical to our students success, high-quality teachers, and modern facilities while maintaining our budget discipline. Additionally, we need to make sure that our teachers are supported, whether that is having the basic supplies they need to the training resources they require to stay up-to-date with evolving educational curriculum and teaching techniques.
Marc’s background in finance and as a former CPA makes him perfectly qualified to ensure that school district 203 makes the most of every dollar to support our students, teachers, and make sure we remain leaders in our educational community.
Educational Excellence
A strong school system is vital to the success of the community. It directly impacts economic growth, civic engagement and, most importantly, inspires our children. An effective school system employs programs to encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem solving. District 203 needs to continue to stay at the forefront of educational innovation including providing resources to our students, supporting our teacher’s, and constantly looking for new ideas.
While District 203 has always been highly rated, there is always room to do more! Marc is dedicated to looking for innovative solutions to provide the best opportunities for our children. He is eager to inspire the next generations just as his daughter was inspired when she attended District 203 schools.
Inclusivity
Our schools reflect the diversity of our community. Every single student, regardless of their background, should be embraced in our schools and be provided equal access to every opportunity our district offers. Inclusivity encourages respect, empathy, and collaboration among students which prepares them for future success in our increasingly diverse world. District 203 must continue to strive for excellence and work to facilitate an environment to close achievement gaps for our students. He strongly believes that we shouldn’t just identify gaps in student performance, but go further and determine the root causes of these gaps and provide resources to find solutions.
We must also collaborate with local representatives and nonprofit organizations to support our student population with access to mental health care, food security, and other basic needs.
